Russian court fines Twitter for not deleting banned content – Ifax
A Russian court has fined web-based entertainment network Twitter (TWTR.N) 3 million roubles ($41,000) for not eliminating restricted content from its website, Interfax news organization covered Thursday.
The fine was forced after Twitter neglected to erase content restricted in Russia remembering posts with directions for how to make Molotov mixed drinks, Interfax said, referring to the court.
Prior, Interfax announced that Russia fined U.S. web goliath Google (GOOGL.O) a similar sum for declining to eliminate restricted content from the video-sharing website YouTube.
