Mark Zuckerberg announces new partnership with Salesforce
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday said WhatsApp is set to partner with Salesforce globally so that Salesforce’ customers can now benefit from WhatsApp’s business offering by setting up their businesses on the WhatsApp Business App through WhatsApp’s Cloud API.
“More and more people prefer to communicate with businesses over text. That’s why we launched our Cloud API earlier this year and are now partnering with Salesforce,” Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post.
“By partnering with Salesforce, the world’s largest CRM platform, many more businesses will be able to use WhatsApp to connect with their customers seamlessly,” Matthew Idema, VP of Business Messaging at Meta said in a blog post on Tuesday. ”
As part of the pilot for the integration, L’Oréal group brands will use WhatsApp to reconnect with consumers who had previously left items in a shopping cart and will send them coupons and offers, on the chat thread.
“This is just the beginning. We’ll continue to build tools that will help more businesses provide support to their customers, showcase and discuss products, and more,” Idema said.
Earlier this year, the instant messaging platform opened up the WhatsApp Business Platform to any business across the world to help them get started on WhatsApp in order to help deepen customer relationships, drive sales and provide support.
